The fish most Cyprus rock anglers build their tackle around. Amberjack fight downwards and use structure, so gear choice is about lifting power rather than casting distance.
Where
Deep-water rock platforms, offshore banks and wrecks. Fish move shallower in the cooler months.

Tackle
- PE 2–3 braid with a heavy fluorocarbon leader
- Reels with genuinely usable drag above 10 kg
- Long-cast metals of 30–60 g from shore
